Privacy Policy
This page explains what World, by Freeframe (the "Service") collects about you, how we use it, and your rights. Freeframe ("we," "us") operates the Service at world.freeframe.ai. We try to keep this short and honest. If anything is unclear, email us at world@freeframe.ai.
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and a unique user ID from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
While you use the Service, we store:
- The profile information you provide (name, age, city, what kind of person you'd like to play, optional partner-type preference).
- Your game state, including the lives you've started, scenes you've played, the choices you've made, characters you've met, and any media generated for those scenes.
- How long you've played, in aggregate, per life and overall.
- Product analytics events about how you use the Service (e.g. "started a life," "completed a scene," "encountered the paywall"). These tie to your user ID but do not contain the contents of your gameplay.
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and abuse-prevention.
If you make a payment, our payment processor Stripe collects your billing information directly. We never see your card number, only that a payment for your account was completed.
How we use what we collect
- To run the Service for you (load your saved lives, generate the next scene, persist your progress across devices).
- To enforce the single-active-device rule and prevent accounts from being shared simultaneously across devices.
- To understand how the Service is being used in aggregate, so we can improve it.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To meet legal obligations and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your gameplay content to train AI models. We do not target advertising based on your data.
Who we share it with
The Service relies on a small number of third-party processors. Each receives only what they need to provide their function:
- Supabase:authentication, database, storage. Holds your account, profile, game state, and media.
- Anthropic:generates the narrative responses you read. Each request includes only the relevant context for that scene.
- Google (Gemini):generates the still images that anchor each immersion scene.
- Reactor:generates the short video clips when you tap Immerse.
- Stripe:processes payments.
- PostHog:product analytics (event tracking, funnel analysis).
- Vercel:hosts the web application.
We may also share information when required by law, when necessary to enforce our Terms, or in the unlikely event of a corporate transaction (acquisition or merger), in which case you will be notified.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar storage (localStorage, IndexedDB) to keep you signed in, remember your game state on your device, and run analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, game state, and stored media within 30 days. We may retain limited records (e.g., payment receipts, fraud-prevention logs) for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can:
- Email world@freeframe.ai to request a copy of your data.
- Email the same address to delete your account and associated data.
- Sign out at any time from the in-app menu.
If you're in the EU/UK, you also have rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection) and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you're in California, you have rights under CCPA. The same email handles all of these.
Children
The Service is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (TLS in transit, encrypted database at rest, row-level security on per-user data) to protect your information. No system is perfect, but we do not store your card details, and your data is scoped to your account.
International users
The Service is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our processors operate.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you in-app or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
